Recording CSS Output

Recording output from a Correlating Source Selector (CSS) instance takes just a few clicks.

Configure CSS

Start by clicking More Output Options…

Enable Alternate Pull Output and optional change the Stream UNC Suffix.

Commit the change and we’re done in in CSS configuration.

Configure Recorder

Open the Recorder page and select a recorder to use, or create a new one. Then add a single stream and select the target in the dfe selection options. Here’s where providing a custom name makes it easy to find. Keep in mind that the CSS (dataflow) must be running for the selection to appear.

The Stream Type to choose depends on the CSS operating mode.

  • Blocked or Encrypted mode works best with PCM/Trhougput
  • Framed mode works best with PCM/Packed
  • Message Format is also a more generic catch-all

Recording in IRIG Chapter 10 format maintains timestamps and other meta data.

You’re now ready to begin recording!
