MIL-STD-1553

NetAcquire MIL-STD-1553 to Ethernet Data Conversion

Share data; test and validate systems with ease

NetAcquire systems offer a real-time solution that support bi-directional conversion of an MIL-STD-1553 data bus and an Ethernet network. The NetAcquire system can perform as a Bus Monitor (BM), Bus Controller (BC), or one or more Remote Terminals (RT), alone or in any combination. The full processing and decommutation capabilities of the NetAcquire product are available for analyzing and generating 1553 traffic, as well as data archiving and playback.

Benefits

  • Simultaneously share and display 1553 data across multiple desktop computers
  • Simulate a Bus Controller to test your Remote Terminal product
  • Simulate one or more RTs to test your Bus Controller product
  • Test your full system operation while one or more RTs are still in development by having the NetAcquire unit stand in for the missing RTs
  • Verify/Validate correct operation of your existing system by monitoring all 1553 traffic
  • Analyze message traffic off-line from archived messages
  • Monitor and communicate on multiple buses to test redundancy
  • Easily configure NetAcquire system operation from any Web browser to quickly change test scenarios
  • View 1553 bus operations away from a noisy lab via the network

Bus Monitor Features for MIL STD 1553

  • Monitors all bus traffic
  • Selectively filters traffic to capture the most interesting data
  • Filters by RT address, RT sub-address, broadcast, Mode-Code commands, direction, and traffic on either bus A and bus B or both.
  • Limits capture to only messages with errors
  • Timestamps all data
  • Formats in accordance with IRIG 106-2001 Chapter 8 MIL-STD-1553 Acquisition Formatting Standard

Bus Controller Features for 1553 Data Bus

  • Generates sequences of periodic messages in real time
  • BC-to-RT, RT-to-BC, and RT-to-RT message transfer operations
  • Generates broadcast messages
  • Programmable period of message transfers synchronized to internal clock, IRIG clock, Network Time Protocol (NTP) source
  • Programmable bus-to-use, Remote Terminal address, sub-address, and data contents
  • Records success/failure status of each transfer
  • Sends on-demand message from remote PC via Ethernet to 1553 bus
  • Supports Mode-Code messages to change RT operational state

Remote Terminal Features for MIL STD 1553

  • Supports maximum number of Remote Terminals on 1553 bus
  • Supports all sub-addresses for each RT
  • Data transfers from BC routable to Data Flow Engine which can parse/decommutate data and publish individual fields to network
  • Preset-able arrays of data for RT to BC messages

Data Routing and Networking Features

  • Performs real-time data analysis with the NetAcquire Data Flow Engine
  • Split and combine 1553 traffic across separate streams
  • Publish to network with convenient NetAcquire Publish-Subscribe (no network programming required)
  • Publish to network with standard TCP or UDP sockets
  • Networked graphic data displays

Data Recording/Archiving Features

  • Selective archiving of all or any subset of 1553 traffic
  • Time stamping of individual messages
  • Easy export of data to various PC applications
  • FTP transfer of captured files automatically or on demand
  • Formatted in accordance with IRIG 106-2001 Telemetry Standards Chapter 8 MIL-STD-1553 Acquisition Formatting Standard
